E-invoicing
E-invoicing and compliant invoices, for every country you sell to.
Every sale gets an invoice and every refund a credit note, with the numbering, tax IDs and wording each country requires. Where a country mandates e-invoicing, GoodVat issues structured e-invoices and delivers them the way that country requires: over Peppol, through France’s approved platforms, or with Spain’s Verifactu and SII reporting.

What it does
Invoicing that keeps up with the law
Europe is moving from PDF invoices to structured e-invoices, country by country. GoodVat issues both from the same sale.
EN 16931 formats
Structured e-invoices to the EU standard, in the format each country expects: Factur-X, ZUGFeRD, XRechnung or UBL.
Peppol delivery
E-invoices sent and received over the Peppol network, as Belgium’s 2026 mandate requires.
France’s approved platforms
E-invoices issued through a plateforme agréée (PA) for the French reform, with the e-reporting that goes with it.
Spain: Verifactu and SII
Invoicing records kept to Verifactu’s rules, and SII reporting for businesses that file it.
Invoices and credit notes
Issued and sent automatically for every sale and refund, with your branding.
Legal details handled
Sequential numbering, your and your customer’s tax IDs, and the mandatory wording, such as reverse charge notes.
One record for returns
Invoices and credit notes feed straight into your VAT returns, so the numbers always agree.
How it works
- 01
Connect your sales
GoodVat receives each sale from your store, billing system or the API.
- 02
Invoice generated
An invoice or credit note is issued with the right tax, numbering and wording, as a structured e-invoice where the country requires one.
- 03
Delivered and reported
It reaches your customer over Peppol, an approved platform or email, is reported where required, and flows into your returns.

Frequently asked questions
What is e-invoicing?
An e-invoice is an invoice issued in a structured, machine-readable format, rather than as a PDF or paper document, so the customer’s system and often the tax authority can read it automatically. In the EU, the common standard is EN 16931, which formats such as Factur-X, ZUGFeRD and XRechnung follow.
When does e-invoicing become mandatory in France and Germany?
In France, every business must be able to receive e-invoices since 1 September 2026; large and mid-sized companies issue them since then, and SMEs from 1 September 2027. In Germany, every business must receive since 1 January 2025, issue from 1 January 2027 if prior-year turnover is over €800,000, and everyone issues from 1 January 2028.
Do I need e-invoices if I only sell to consumers?
Most current mandates cover sales between businesses. Consumer sales usually still need a compliant invoice or receipt, and some countries, like France, also require the sales to be reported through e-reporting. GoodVat issues the right document for each sale and handles the reporting.
How does GoodVat handle France’s e-invoicing reform?
French e-invoices have to go through an approved platform (plateforme agréée, or PA). GoodVat issues your e-invoices through one, receives the ones your suppliers send you, and handles the e-reporting of B2C and cross-border sales.
Does GoodVat support Peppol and Verifactu?
Yes. GoodVat sends and receives e-invoices over Peppol, which Belgium’s mandate uses, and keeps invoicing records to Spain’s Verifactu rules, with SII reporting for businesses that file it.
Does GoodVat issue credit notes?
Yes. Every refund or partial refund gets a credit note that references the original invoice, so your returns reconcile.
Does e-invoicing apply to non-EU sellers?
It can. If you are VAT-registered in a country with a mandate, its rules may apply to your sales there. Our e-invoicing guides explain the scope country by country.
