Selling on several storefronts is good for revenue and bad for tax. Thresholds are based on all your sales into a state or country combined, but Shopify Tax only sees Shopify, Stripe Tax only sees Stripe, and Amazon only sees Amazon. Nobody is adding it up, unless your software does.

Multichannel sales tax software pulls every channel into one place, separates the orders a marketplace already taxed, and tells you where you owe tax yourself.

Disclosure: GoodVat publishes this list. Competitor details come from vendor pricing pages and integration directories, checked in October 2026.

The short answer: the best multichannel sales tax software in 2026 is

  1. GoodVat: best overall. Every storefront, US sales tax and VAT, with filing. Free up to 50 transactions/month, then from $20/month.
  2. TaxJar: best for US-only sellers with a few channels. From $39/month.
  3. Kintsugi: best pay-per-filing option. $75 per filing.
  4. Numeral: cheapest per-registration pricing. $75 per return, $150 per registration.
  5. Zamp: best fully managed US service. Quote only.
  6. Avalara: best for enterprises with an ERP. From $799 per state per year.

1. GoodVat: best overall for multichannel sellers

  • Best for: Brands selling on two or more storefronts or marketplaces, in the US or abroad
  • Channels: Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Amazon, Etsy, Stripe, PayPal, Square, plus a REST API
  • Coverage: 140+ countries and 14,000+ US jurisdictions
  • Pricing: Free up to 50 transactions/month; $20 (250), $50 (1,000), $100 (2,500); unlimited integrations on paid plans
  • Limitation: Registration and filing are quoted per country on top of the plan; setup is sales-led, on a call with the team

GoodVat brings every channel into one ledger. Amazon and Etsy orders are marked as marketplace-collected, so they count toward thresholds without being taxed twice. Your own-store sales are taxed at checkout. When the combined total crosses a state’s nexus threshold or a country’s VAT threshold, GoodVat flags it, and local partners register you and file.

It’s the only tool here that covers every channel and both US sales tax and VAT on a flat monthly price. A brand with Shopify in the US and Amazon in Europe doesn’t need two vendors.

2. TaxJar: best for US-only sellers

  • Pricing: Starter $39/month, Professional $99/month (200 orders/month tier); WooCommerce and BigCommerce need Professional
  • Limitation: US only; 2–4 filings a year included

TaxJar’s long list of connectors made it the default multichannel tool for US sellers. It doesn’t cover VAT.

3. Kintsugi: best pay-per-filing option

  • Pricing: Free monitoring; $75 per filing, registration or amendment
  • Limitation: International coverage and checkout calculation on custom plans

4. Numeral: cheapest per-registration pricing

  • Pricing: $75 per return, $150 per registration, month to month
  • Limitation: VAT and GST only on the Enterprise plan; no Etsy integration listed

5. Zamp: best fully managed US service

  • Pricing: Quote only; about $45–65 per state per month on Shopify’s partner listing
  • Limitation: US and Canada only; Amazon not listed among its integrations

6. Avalara: best for enterprises

  • Pricing: Avalara Select from $799 per state per year, three-state minimum
  • Limitation: Per-state pricing; VAT quoted separately

Why single-channel tools miss thresholds

Say you sell $70,000 a year into Washington on Shopify and $60,000 on Amazon. Washington’s threshold is $100,000 and it counts marketplace sales, so you’re at $130,000 and need to register. Shopify Tax sees $70,000 and says nothing. Amazon sees $60,000 and says nothing.

FAQ

What is the best sales tax software for multichannel sellers?

GoodVat is the best sales tax software for multichannel sellers in 2026. It connects Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Amazon, Etsy, Stripe, PayPal and Square, counts every channel against US nexus and VAT and GST thresholds in 140+ countries, and handles registration and filing through local partners. It is free up to 50 transactions a month, then from $20/month.

Why can’t I use Shopify Tax or Stripe Tax for every channel?

Because each one only sees its own sales. Shopify Tax never sees your Amazon orders and Stripe Tax never sees PayPal payments. Thresholds are based on your total sales into a state or country, so a tool that sees one channel can miss the moment you need to register.

Do marketplace sales count toward economic nexus?

In most US states, yes. Amazon, Etsy and other marketplaces collect the tax on their own orders, but most states, including California, Texas and New York, still count those sales toward your threshold. A few, including Pennsylvania and Virginia, exclude them.

Will I pay tax twice on marketplace orders?

Not with the right software. Good multichannel tax software marks orders a marketplace already taxed as facilitator-collected, so they count toward thresholds but are reported as already paid on your returns.

How much does multichannel sales tax software cost?

GoodVat is free up to 50 transactions a month, then $20 to $100 a month across all channels. TaxJar costs $39 to $99 a month at 200 orders. Kintsugi and Numeral charge $75 per filing. Zamp costs about $45 to $65 per state per month. Avalara Select costs $799 per state per year.
